Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company is seeking an Associate Chemist in the Coil division to contribute to new technologies and platforms in high-performance coatings. You will participate in planning, executing, and analyzing experiments, and work closely with a mentor chemist on PVDF coil projects to develop improved products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM required.
• Experience with solvent-borne and water-borne acrylic, alkyd, epoxy and urethane chemistries.
• Experience/inputting data, data analysis and technical documentation in lab notebooks or databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop, reformulate, maintain and enhance products through planning, executing and analyzing experiments with clear results.
• Display basic working knowledge of chemicals, raw materials, substrate prep and lab instruments.
• Input data, perform data analysis and maintain technical documentation daily.
• Work under supervision, possibly leading small projects or groups in product development.
• Develop products using advanced technologies with improved consumer-perceived performance.
• Serve as technical resource for PVDF Coil Blend Cell projects and related initiatives.
• Interact with internal and external customers on technical projects.
