Job summary

CPS Inc. is seeking a hands-on Quality Technician to join a growing specialty coatings manufacturer in Michigan. You will perform acceptance testing on materials, conduct lab tests on films and solutions, and ensure products meet strict quality standards in a collaborative setting.

Your duties include recording results with SPC, communicating findings to production, calibrating instruments, and maintaining organized lab documentation. Training and cross-training across shifts are available.

Qualifications

• Two years of quality, laboratory, manufacturing, or related experience.
• Attention to detail with the ability to perform accurate, repeatable lab testing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in both lab and manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance testing on raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products.
• Conduct laboratory testing on coated films, coating solutions, and incoming materials.
• Record test results using SPC and quality documentation systems.
• Communicate quality results to manufacturing personnel.
• Generate quality reports and maintain laboratory documentation.
• Calibrate laboratory instruments and maintain lab files.
• Assist with root cause investigations and cross-train teammates.
• Collaborate with production to ensure products meet customer specs.
