Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector II to lead inspections of protective coatings and linings on industrial projects. You will plan hold points, verify prep and cure, perform adhesion and holiday testing, and author reports relied on by owners and engineers.

Required AMPP CIP Level 2 with 2+ years of experience; familiarity with tank/pipeline/structural coatings; you may halt work that deviates from spec and document it for closure.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 2 certification current with 2+ years inspecting under it.
• SSPC/NACE surface prep standards knowledge and coating systems familiarity.
• Ability to stop non-conforming work and document for closure.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing from coating specs and data sheets.
• Verify surface preparation, application and cure with sign-off at each hold.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; write reports and dispositions.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors and review logs; represent program to owner and applicator.
