Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector II to lead coating and lining inspections on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects with sign-off authority at hold points. You will verify surface preparation, application, and cure, perform adhesion and holiday testing, and write detailed inspection reports for owners and engineers.

Requirements include AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 with 2+ years of inspection experience, SSPC/NACE standards knowledge, and experience on tank, pipeline,

Qualifications

AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification, current, with 2+ years inspecting under it.
Command of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards and common industrial coating systems.
Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects.
Able to stop an application that is out of specification and document it so it closes.

Responsibilities

Plan inspection hold points and testing from the coating specification and the manufacturer's data.
Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point.
Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing.
Disposition defects and specify repairs.
Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs.
Write inspection and nonconformance reports.
Represent the inspection program to the owner and applicator.
