Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector II to lead the inspection of protective coating and lining work on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects with sign-off authority. You will plan hold points, verify surface preparation, application, and cure, and write inspection reports used by owners and engineers.

AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification is required, with 2+ years' experience inspecting.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 2 certification with current status and 2+ years of inspection under it.
• Command of SSPC/NACE surface prep standards and coating systems in industrial projects.
• Experience on tank linings, pipeline coatings, or bridge/structural steel coatings.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing per coating specification and manufacturer data.
• Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; document readings and dispositions.
• Discipline nonconformances with the applicator and specify repairs.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports; oversee Level 1 inspectors on larger projects.
