Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector II to lead coating inspections on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify surface preparation, and approve applications and cures with sign-off authority at each hold point.

You will also perform adhesion and holiday testing and write detailed inspection reports for owners and engineers. The role requires AMPP CIP Level 2 certification with 2+ years of experience; familiarity with SSPC/NACE

Qualifications

AMPP CIP Level 2 certification is required and current.
2+ years inspecting under CIP Level 2.
Familiarity with SSPC/NACE surface prep standards and common industrial coating systems.
Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coatings.

Responsibilities

Plan inspection hold points and testing per the coating specification and manufacturer data.
Verify surface prep, application, and cure with sign-off at each hold point.
Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; disposition defects and specify repairs.
Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs.
Write inspection and nonconformance reports; represent the program to owner and applicator.
