Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector II to lead inspection of protective coatings on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify surface prep and cure, perform adhesion and holiday tests, and write reports for owners and engineers.

Requires AMPP/NACE CIP Level 2 certification with 2+ years of experience, knowledge of SSPC/NACE standards, and experience on tanks, pipelines, or structural steel coatings.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification required and current.
• Strong command of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards.
• Experience on tank, pipeline, or structural steel coating projects.
• Ability to stop an application that is out of specification and document it.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing from coating spec and manufacturer data.
• Verify surface prep, application, and cure with sign-off at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing.
• Dispost defects and specify repairs; supervise Level 1 inspectors.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports; represent program to owner and applicator.
