Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a skilled Coatings Inspector II to lead inspection of protective coatings and linings on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify surface prep and cure, and perform adhesion and holiday tests with sign-off authority.

The role requires AMPP CIP Level 2 certification with 2+ years of inspecting experience, and knowledge of SSPC/NACE standards. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification required, current.
• 2+ years of inspecting under CIP Level 2.
• Strong knowledge of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards and common industrial coating systems.
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects.
• Ability to stop an application that is out of specification and document the action.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing from coating specification and data.
• Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; disposition defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports; represent the program to owner and applicator.
