Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector II to lead inspection of protective coatings and linings on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify prep, applications, and cures, conduct adhesion and holiday tests, and document findings for owners and engineers.

Requires AMPP CIP Level 2 with 2+ years of experience, plus SSPC/NACE standards knowledge. Expect supervision of Level 1 inspectors and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification and 2+ years inspecting under it.
• Strong knowledge of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards and common industrial coating systems.
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing from coating specs and data sheets.
• Verify surface prep, application, and cure with sign-off at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; write reports and manage nonconformances.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs.
