Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector II to lead inspections of protective coatings and linings on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify surface prep and cure, perform adhesion and holiday testing, and sign off at each point.

Responsibilities include supervising Level 1 inspectors, documenting nonconformances, and communicating with owners and applicators. A CIP Level 2 certification is required with 2+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Active coating inspection experience on industrial projects.
• Knowledge of SSPC/NACE surface prep standards.
• Ability to stop work that is out of spec and document it.

Responsibilities

• Plan hold points and testing from the coating spec and manufacturer data.
• Verify surface prep, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; disposition defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors and review their logs.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports; represent the program to owner and applicator.
