Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic coating inspections under a CIP Level 2 or 3 supervisor. You will measure ambient conditions, verify surface prep, validate film thickness, document each step on tanks, structures, pipes, and concrete, and maintain inspection logs with photos.

Applicants should hold AMPP CIP Level 1 certification and have 1+ years in industrial coatings.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 1 certification, current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working in tanks, on structures, and around blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.
• Honest about what the gauge reads.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to specified SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standard.
• Measure wet film and dry film thickness; check holidays and defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing, and pot life against data sheets.
• Keep daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage of work.
• Support senior inspector and document inspection reports.
