Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspection of protective coating work under senior inspectors. You will verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE standards, measure ambient conditions, film thickness, and document each step on tanks, structural steel, pipe, and concrete.

Requirements include AMPP CIP Level 1 certification and at least 1 year of industrial coatings experience.

Qualifications

Measured ambient conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) and recorded readings.
Experience reading gauges and interpreting coating inspection data.
Must be meticulous with instruments and records.

Responsibilities

Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards.
Measure wet and dry film thickness and check for holidays/defects.
Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing and pot life against datasheets.
Maintain daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage.
