Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspection of protective coating work under the direction of a CIP Level 2 or 3 inspector. The role involves verifying surface preparation per SSPC/NACE, measuring film thickness, recording ambient conditions, and documenting each step of coating application.

You will maintain the daily coating inspection log and photograph stages, with opportunities for growth to Level 2 after required experience and training.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification required.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working around blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.

Responsibilities

• Inspect coating work under senior inspector's direction.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE standards; measure film thickness and assess for holidays.
• Record ambient conditions and maintain daily coating inspection log.
• Document every step and photograph stages of application.
