Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I in Wyoming to perform basic inspection of protective coating work under senior guidance. You will verify surface prep, measure ambient conditions, assess film thickness, and document every step for tanks, structures, pipes, and concrete.

Requirements include AMPP CIP Level 1 certification and at least 1 year of coatings experience. You will work with precision instruments, maintain logs, and support quality control on site.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification, current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working in tanks, on structures, and around blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.
• Honest about what the gauge reads.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards.
• Measure wet film and dry film thickness and check for holidays/defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing, and pot life.
• Maintain daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage of work.
