Job summary

King County is seeking a Coatings and Corrosion Specialist to support conveyance and treatment projects, including pump station upgrades and membrane tank coatings. You will provide technical leadership on coatings, corrosion rehabilitation, and related design work, while coordinating with multiple teams through modern project delivery.

The role requires inspecting facilities, developing cost estimates, and advancing public bidding compliance, all within a hybrid work model based in King County,

Qualifications

• Experience with construction bid packages and cost estimates.
• Ability to solve complex technical issues in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Proficient with MS Office tools and databases; familiarity with specialty software.

Responsibilities

• Perform Construction Service and Inspection. Review drawings and technical docs, advise on contractor compliance, and review change orders.
• Serve as technical SME on wastewater projects requiring coatings and linings.
• Develop and manage work order contracts and cost estimates to comply with public bidding policy.
• Inspect facilities to gauge corrosion severity and provide rehabilitation recommendations with rough costs.
• Maintain relationships with coatings, corrosion rehab, and sealant industries to improve WTD’s Engineering standards.
