Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring a Coating Technician in Duncan, SC. The position pays $19.00 per hour and runs Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include preparing surfaces, applying high-quality coatings, inspecting finished work, and performing routine maintenance on paint equipment. • Perform routine maintenance on paint equipment, spray guns, booths, filters, and related systems.
• Review blueprints and specifications to ensure products meet customer requirements.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical training in industrial painting, powder coating, manufacturing, or related fields is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of industrial painting or powder coating experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of coating applications, paint mixing, coating thickness, and surface preparation techniques.
• Experience identifying and correcting coating defects such as fisheyes, poor adhesion, runs, and rough finishes.
• Ability to use measuring tools including viscosity testers and coating thickness gauges.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of quality standards, color matching, and coating specifications.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the shift.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around production equipment, cranes, and forklift traffic.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Strong visual acuity, including color recognition and inspection of finished products.

Job Duties

• Support production goals while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve production and quality concerns.
