Job summary

Illinois Tool Works Inc. is seeking a Coater Operator for the 3rd shift (Sun–Thu, 10:00pm–6:30am) in Kalkaska, MI. Starting pay is $24.75/hour, including shift premium, with a $2,500 sign-on bonus paid over time.

You will safely operate coating equipment to produce ink-coated jumbo rolls and perform QA testing and data entry. This role requires manual handling, routine machine adjustments, and strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE.

Qualifications

• Stable employment history and a positive attitude; safety-focused.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; data entry experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills including data entry and lookups are helpful.
• Ability to work overtime and flexible shifts is expected.
• Willingness to comply with PPE and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Start and stop the coating machine using the control panel.
• Align or fasten machine parts using hand tools.
• Thread polyester through rollers and adjust temperature, speed and flow rate.
• Monitor for defects and adjust as needed.
• Perform material handling, QA testing, and data entry.
• Keep the machine clean between runs and participate in lockout/tagout procedures.
• Move heavy drums and totes using carts and pallet jacks.
• Print production run sheets and labels; follow hazardous material handling rules.
