Job summary

Wam Global is seeking a coatings operator to apply and control rubber coatings on metal substrates per standard procedures. You will monitor coating margins, inspect finished material, and assist in line setup and maintenance.

The role requires reading and understanding SOPs, basic math, and clear communication with the team. Candidates must be able to work varied shifts and handle physical tasks in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos, and basic documents (SOPs).
• Ability to perform basic math operations and interpret measurements relevant to coating processes.
• Strong verbal communication to coordinate with line personnel and supervisors.
• Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed for operations.

Responsibilities

• Applies coatings with margin guides of ¼” or less.
• Monitors coating process for controlled application.
• Visually inspects for and removes foreign materials under blade.
• Visually inspects coated material after application.
• Assists in line setup including back flush and filter bag changes.
• Lifts and cleans blade when material splice occurs.
• Notifies Coating Line Operator of all problems.
• Communicates with line employees via intercom.
• Assists Coating Line Operator with machine or material issues.
• Relieves other Coating Head Operators during absences from coating station.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
