Job summary

Wilsonart LLC in Temple, TX, is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the coating process daily, ensuring safe operation, throughput, and quality. You will own coating weight control, film thickness, and cure performance, and guide maintenance, start-ups, and line improvements.

The role requires strong problem-solving, safety leadership, and ability to train cross-functional teams while maintaining cleanliness discipline on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Process Engineering.
• Experience with specialty curable coatings and coating rheology.
• Ability to train and lead cross-functional teams on standard work and safety.

Responsibilities

• Owns process setup and control plans for coat weight/film thickness and cure performance.
• Leads startups, changeovers and trials to stabilize coat weight and appearance.
• Troubleshoots line issues and implements root-cause corrective actions.
• Maintains cleanliness/contamination control program for coating equipment.
• Coordinates preventive maintenance with maintenance/engineering.
• Creates/updates SOPs and trains operators.
• Supports Quality with inspection methods and acceptance criteria.
• Ensures chemical handling, SDS labeling, storage and LOTO practices.
• Tracks KPIs (OEE, scrap, first-pass yield, downtime) and drives continuous improvement.
• Provides shift leadership and staffing coordination.
