Job summary

sg360 is seeking a Coater Operator to set up, operate, and monitor coating equipment in the Production/Finishing department. You will ensure coatings meet customer specs, while maintaining equipment performance, product quality, and a safe work environment.

Collaborate with Pressroom, Bindery, Quality, and Maintenance to minimize downtime. Responsibilities include following safety procedures, adjusting machine parameters, loading materials, inspecting finished products, and keeping records.

Qualifications

• Experience operating coating, finishing, printing or related production equipment.
• Experience in a commercial printing or direct mail production environment preferred.
• Ability to read and understand job tickets, production specifications, and written procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate coating equipment per job specifications and procedures.
• Review tickets, orders, samples to ensure proper setup and coating.
• Load materials required for production and prepare coatings.
• Adjust machine settings for desired finish, coverage, speed, and temperature.
• Monitor equipment to maintain consistency and production efficiency.
• Identify defects and troubleshoot coating-related issues.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, and downtime records.
