Job summary

Lvi-Associates in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to lead field crews on boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction staking and coastal projects along the southeast North Carolina coast. You will supervise crews, operate GPS and robotic total stations, coordinate field operations, ensure safety and quality, mentor junior staff, and communicate with project managers,

Qualifications

• 3+ years leading survey crews in the field.
• Strong knowledge of boundary, topographic, construction, and land development surveying.
• Experience using modern GPS and robotic survey equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret plats, deeds, engineering drawings, and construction plans.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience with waterfront, marine, or Waterway survey projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise survey field crews on boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction staking, and coastal survey projects.
• Operate GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors, and other survey equipment.
• Coordinate daily field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
• Collect, verify, and document field data for processing and mapping.
• Communicate with project managers, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders in the field.
• Maintain company quality standards and adhere to safety protocols.
• Assist with training and mentoring junior field personnel.
