Job summary
La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to lead kitchen operations, uphold food quality, and ensure sanitation across all stations. You’ll train staff, coordinate with the Executive Chef, and maintain mise en place, inventory, and guest satisfaction in a busy coastal resort environment.

Qualifications
- Education: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or at least two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and other workers engaged in preparing and cooking food products.
- Trains, works, and oversees employees engaged in preparing, portioning, and garnishing foods to ensure methods of cooking and garnishing and sizes of portions are as prescribed.
- Maintains high level of food quality, freshness, and consistency in presentation, taste, and temperature.
- Requisitions supplies and places food orders under the Chef de Cuisine’s guideline.
- Ensures stations are setup with mise en place for all items prior to service.
- Maintains sanitation standards and oversees closing/opening procedures.
