Job summary

Arup is seeking a Coastal Resilience Leader to grow and lead our resilience service on the West Coast. You will set market strategy, grow key accounts, and direct delivery across California, the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, Hawaiʻi, and the broader Western U.S., while shaping how Arup expands coastal resilience in the Americas.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in coastal resilience, climate adaptation, waterfront planning, or infrastructure risk.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or coastal engineering, environmental science, planning, hydrology, geography, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• PE license or equivalent credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set the West Region coastal resilience growth strategy, locating priority locations and key accounts.
• Lead Project Director on major coastal adaptation programs with accountability for technical excellence, client satisfaction, and commercial performance.
• Build executive-level relationships with ports, waterfront cities, transportation agencies, utilities, tribal governments, campuses, and regional agencies to shape programs and funding strategies.
• Lead capture planning, strategic teaming, pursuit strategy, and interviews to convert market intelligence into landmark projects.
• Provide senior technical leadership across multi-hazard risk and resilience and capital investment prioritization for public-sector clients.
• Mentor and grow a high-performing coastal resilience team.
