Stantec in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Senior Coastal Engineer, Scientist, or Resilience Planner to lead our coastal practice. You will build client relationships, guide complex projects, and mentor junior staff while advancing resilient coastal solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of experience in coastal engineering, planning, environmental science, environmental policy, geography, landscape architecture, or related field.
• Advanced degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience working directly with clients and developing business opportunities.
• Familiarity with the coastal regulatory and planning landscape in the San Francisco Bay Area.
• Licensed PE in California or AICP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead coastal engineering, resilience, adaptation, and restoration projects in the Bay Area and beyond.
• Grow the coastal practice by building relationships with clients and project partners.
• Manage projects including scopes, budgets, and schedules; lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop coastal adaptation plans, studies, analyses, and design solutions.
• Support and lead proposals and business development initiatives.
• Mentor and develop junior staff and promote collaborative culture.
