Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, DECM, seeks a Regional Maintenance Carpenter (Carpenter II) to join the Coastal Region Maintenance Team in Greenville, NC. The role requires journeyman-level carpentry experience, ability to read blueprints, and independence to complete assignments with supervision as needed.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-a-week position with state benefits; the schedule is Monday–Friday with potential weekend work and overnight travel to meet organizational

Qualifications

• Journeyman level wood and/or metal carpentry experience in maintenance/construction.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
• Proficient in safely using construction tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform journeyman-level carpentry work for building structures and systems.
• Read and apply information from blueprints and project plans.
• Operate and maintain carpentry tools safely and efficiently.
• Independently manage work assignments from a supervisor to ensure timely completion.
• Assist with additional maintenance tasks to support regional operations.
