Job summary

The University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) is seeking a Housing Maintenance Technician to keep student housing safe, functional, and welcoming. You will perform preventive maintenance, repair appliances, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and respond to work orders to support a positive living environment for students.

Strong maintenance background and ability to work independently or with a team are essential; flexible schedule including evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Accreditation from a technical school or skilled trades program required.
• Knowledge of safety practices and building maintenance.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor and repairs.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Willing to work flexible hours including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks in carpentry, masonry, electrical, and plumbing.
• Repair appliances and kitchen fixtures.
• Respond to work orders and manage routine maintenance.
• Inspect and maintain housing facilities for safety and function.
• Collaborate with Housing staff to ensure a student-ready environment.
