The Oyster Loft in Pismo Beach is hiring dependable, adaptable, and detail-oriented individuals to join our hospitality team. If you enjoy a fast-paced environment and want to start a career in hospitality, we’d like to meet you.

As a Host/Hostess, you’ll welcome guests, manage reservations, monitor wait times, escort guests, and coordinate seating with staff. Training for Food Handlers and Responsible Beverage Service is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience as a Host/Hostess is preferred but not required.
• Understanding of restaurant etiquette.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
• Ability to manage reservations.
• Demonstrable customer-service skills.
• Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person).
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Available to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid CA food handlers certification.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests
• Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists
• Manage reservations
• Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas
• Provide menus and introduce server
• Greet guests upon their departure
• Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options
• Maintain a clean reception area
• Cater to guests who require extra attention
• Answer incoming calls and address guest queries
• Assist wait staff as needed
• We provide full coverage for Food Handlers and Responsible Beverage Service training and certification.
