AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Coastal Engineer in Melbourne, FL, to join our Ports and Coastal Resilience Practice. The role supports design and construction oversight of dredging, nourishment, restoration, and shoreline projects through the full project lifecycle, from data collection to permitting and construction services.

The candidate will lead design efforts, coordinate surveys and investigations, and collaborate with clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Coastal, Ocean Engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree in Coastal Engineering or related field preferred.
• Florida Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain.
• 4–8 years of coastal engineering experience, including dredging projects.
• Experience preparing technical specs, drawings, cost estimates, and bid documents.
• Travel to project sites and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsabilités

• Lead and support dredging, beach nourishment, waterway restoration, and coastal projects.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, drawings, cost estimates, and construction documents.
• Coordinate surveys, geotechnical investigations, environmental studies, and other data collection.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluate design alternatives.
• Support permitting, bidding, construction administration, and oversight activities.
• Monitor compliance with permits and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, and project teams.
• Assist with managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and field staff.
• Participate in project-site visits and field activities.
