Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Florida is seeking a Coastal Engineer to join the Ports and Coastal Resilience Practice. The role supports dredging, beach nourishment, and shoreline projects from data collection through permitting, bidding, and construction oversight.

The candidate should have a Civil/Coastal/Ocean Engineering background, Florida PE or the ability to obtain licensure, and 4–8 years of coastal engineering experience. Travel to project sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Coastal/Ocean Engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree in Coastal Engineering preferred.
• Florida PE license or ability to obtain licensure after hire.
• 4–8 years of relevant coastal engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support design of dredging, beach nourishment, and coastal projects.
• Prepare calculations, specs, drawings, estimates, and construction docs.
• Coordinate surveys, geotechnical investigations, and data collection.
• Perform analyses and evaluate design alternatives.
• Support permitting, bidding, construction administration, and oversight.
• Ensure compliance with project specs and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Assist in managing schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and participate in field activities.
