Job summary

HDR in Lafayette, LA seeks a Coastal Coordinator/EI to contribute to water resource projects by applying design engineering and modeling techniques. You will support project engineers, focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, and contribute to flood control and watershed restoration efforts.

In the role of Coastal Coordinator/EI, we'll count on you to contribute to water resource projects for federal, state and local municipalities by applying design engineering and modeling techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state and local municipalities.
  • Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations.
  • Engage in projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues and non-point source loading and point source design.
  • Produce design calculations, draft technical reports and perform water resources studies.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
