Job summary

Brandywine School District is seeking a qualified coach to lead varsity, junior varsity, and freshman programs. The role requires certification, CPR/First Aid, and ongoing DIAA rule comprehension to ensure safe, compliant practices and competitions.

The coach will develop season schedules, inventory equipment, and coordinate with athletic staff, parents, and the community to uphold high standards of sportsmanship and student development.

Qualifications

• Certificated and/or professionally licensed non-administrative employee of the Brandywine School District preferred.
• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Previous successful coaching experience in the identified sport.
• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the program; willing to study new theories.
• Preferred prior successful coaching experience in Flag Football.

Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for the overall supervision of his/her programs (Varsity, JV, and Freshmen).
• Must be certified and maintain CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
• Must take NFHS Online Concussion course every 2 years.
• Attend DIAA Rules Clinic every year or complete online version; know and implement DIAA rules.
• Verify each athlete's academic and medical eligibility.
• Supervise and conduct practices and contests safely.
• Maintain a professional appearance.
• Manage uniforms, equipment and facilities responsibly.
• Notify the Athletic Director of budgetary needs.
• Develop good sportsmanship, work ethic and responsibility.
• Develop good public relations with parents, school, booster club and community.
• Communicate with Athletic Director, administrators, coaches, players and parents.
• Direct injured athletes to the athletic trainer and report injuries.
