Job summary

Rite of Passage is hiring a Part-time Coach Counselor at The Cypress Creek Juvenile Correction Center in Lecanto, FL. This role focuses on in-person safety, mentoring, and supporting the daily needs of at-risk youth within a max-security residential setting.

No prior experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided; the position emphasizes consistency, punctuality, motivation, and structured guidance to help youth progress toward treatment goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB tests.
• Must meet requirements to become an ROP eligible driver, including a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person safety and security around-the-clock.
• Meet the physical, personal and health needs of youth through mentoring and skill development.
• Monitor and document behaviors and activities; participate in educational, social, athletic and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with other staff to meet goals of each youth's treatment plan.

A Shift: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. B SHIFT: 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. C Shift: 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. Moving to 12 Hour shifts

What you will do

A Direct Juvenile Support Worker (Coach Counselor) provides in person safety and security around-the-clock. In this role, you will provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each youth through individual mentoring and skill development. Direct Juvenile Support Workers provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the youth’s needs; monitor and document behaviors and activities; and participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities. Direct Juvenile Support Worker will collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet the goals of each youth's treatment plan.

There is no previous experience required for this role, as training will be provided. We are looking for individuals that are consistent, fair, punctual, motivated, and structure-oriented. If you have prior experience in similar facilities, any military training and/or relevant education, you may be eligible to start above entry-level.
