Job summary

Heritage Christian School in Canton is seeking coaches for a variety of athletic opportunities, including skills camps, clubs, and full seasons. Coaches must be available at 3:30 PM on 1-2 days per week and demonstrate a Christ-centered lifestyle aligned with our mission.

Coaches will mentor students, model integrity and compassion, and be responsible for safety, character development, and positive participation across sports and age groups.

Whether leading a Kindergarten skills camp or coaching a competitive middle school team, Heritage Christian School coaches create a safe, encouraging environment where every student feels known, valued, challenged, and loved.

Our school is hiring coaches for a variety of athletic opportunities including skills and drills camps, athletic clubs, and full seasons with competitive events. Coaches can pick the sport(s) and age levels they wish to work with, and have a high degree of control over the scheduling.

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Demonstrate athletic skills and drills.
• Lift and carry athletic equipment (up to approximately 40 pounds).
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Respond quickly to emergencies involving students.
• Place student safety above competition.
• Model professionalism at all times.
• Treat every student with dignity, respect, and compassion.
• Encourage participation and personal growth.
• Demonstrate honesty, fairness, and accountability.
• Follow all school policies and athletic department procedures.

Qualifications

• Be available at 3:30 PM for practices or club sessions at least 1-2 days a week after school during the club timeframe or the season.
• Demonstrated Christian faith and lifestyle consistent with the mission of Heritage Christian School.
• Passion for mentoring and working with children and adolescents.
• Knowledge of the sport being coached.
• Previous coaching, teaching, or youth leadership experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead students with patience, enthusiasm, and consistency.
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families.
• Complete required background checks, pre-employment and random drug screenings, and any required certifications before coaching.
