Job summary

Heritage Christian School in Canton, Ohio seeks an Early Childhood/Preschool educator to support student development and family relations in a faith-based setting. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is required.
• CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse prevention and Communicable Disease certifications required (will train).
• Minimum of one year of early childhood experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
• Must agree to the Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of Heritage Christian School.
• Must pass Ohio Revised Code background check and drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with the team and administrator in the implementation of daily plans.
• Support students in social, physical, verbal, and cognitive development.
• Cultivate relationships with students and their families in Preschool.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information regarding students, families, and teachers.
• Resolve parent and student issues positively as they arise.
• Identify behavioral challenges and assist team to determine the right course of action.
• Supervise non-classroom activities as directed (arrival/departure, lunch, recess, field trips).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ability to pass background checks and related screenings as required.

Qualifications:

Early Childhood Education or Child Development Bachelor’s degree required

Infant/child CPR, First Aid certification, Child Abuse prevention and Communicable Disease certification required (will train)

Must have at least one year early childhood experience

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace

Must be able to accept and uphold the Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of HCS

Must be agreeable to terms set forth in the HCS Personnel Manual

Able to pass Ohio Revised Code required background check and drug/alcohol testing

Ability to assume physical postures at low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children
