Job summary

Appalachian State University’s Academy at Middle Fork in Walkertown, NC invites applicants for a full‑time teaching position. The teacher will join a collaborative grade span and implement co‑teaching, small group instruction, and restorative practices to support all learners.

The Academy offers a 4‑day instructional week with the fifth day for co‑planning and professional development, plus opportunities for free university coursework and ongoing growth within a university lab school setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as an instructional coach or instructional facilitator.
• Hold or be eligible for NC K-6 teaching license.
• National Board Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Model and meet expectations of the Portrait of a Lab School Team Member.
• Create fair and welcoming classroom communities.
• Set clear expectations and norms for classroom communities.
• Use restorative practices to address learning and behavior needs.
• Collaborate with EC and ML teachers to support individualized plans.
