Job summary

Wabtec’s Evident Inspection Technologies division in State College, PA is offering a 2027 co-op focused on testing and test-related activities within transducer production, including data analysis with Excel and Power BI. You will assist senior engineers, lead aspects of a project, read basic drawings, and help document manufacturing standards while learning oscilloscopes and instruments.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing BS or MS degree in Physics, Engineering Science, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Robotics, Computer Science or other Engineering discipline.
• Rising Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior (to graduate school)

Responsibilities

• Lead primary project assigned for the co-op term from start to completion
• Assist Sr. Test Engineer in evaluation, development and implementation of new test systems and protocols
• Assist production and production engineering team with other projects and tasks as needed including but not limited to time studies, work instruction development, fixture design, product design, etc.
• Interface with production assemblers and test technicians to review and update test plans and procedures
• Improve existing or develop new features for test programs.
• Analysis of manufacturing data using Excel, Power BI and other software tools
• Create and update documentation for manufacturing standard of work
• Conduct studies and propose improvements to the test process flow and spatial utilization based on Lean Manufacturing principles
• Read and understand basic engineering drawings and specifications to assist in evaluations, answering requests from other departments, and completing projects and tasks
