Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Transducer Manufacturing Engineering Co-op based in Waltham, MA, from January to June 2027. You will join a multi-disciplinary team of manufacturing, electromechanical, and acoustic engineers to support design, testing, and documentation.

You will help lead a primary project, assist engineers with test systems, and collect data using Excel and Power BI. This hands-on role emphasizes Lean principles, ergonomics, and process improvements.

Qualifications

Pursuing BS or MS degree in Physics, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or other Engineering discipline.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead primary project assigned for the co-op term from start to completion.
Assist Sr. Acoustics Engineer in evaluation, development and implementation of new test systems and protocols.
Assist production and production engineering team with other projects and tasks as needed.
Collect manufacturing data using Excel, Power BI and internal tools.
Conduct process audits and time studies, proposing Lean improvements.
Evaluate ergonomics and safety within Manufacturing operations.
Study and propose improvements to test process flow and space utilization.
Read engineering drawings, schematics, blocks and electrical specs.
