Job summary

IBM is seeking an Entry-Level Technical Sales Engineer Co-Op in the United States. You’ll work with clients and IBM technical experts to design, demonstrate, and deploy AI, hybrid cloud, automation, data, and security solutions while pursuing your degree.

The role blends technical problem solving, customer engagement, and business consulting to generate measurable outcomes. It’s a 1–2 year Co-Op with up to 20 hours during school and up to 40 hours during breaks and summers.

Qualifications

• Active enrolled student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field.
• Foundational knowledge of cloud computing, software development, AI, automation, data, or cybersecurity.
• Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, or similar.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Participate in client discovery sessions to understand objectives and requirements.
• Design and validate technical solution approaches addressing customer challenges.
• Build and deliver demonstrations, proofs of concept, and technical presentations.
• Translate technical concepts into business value for stakeholders.
• Support customer adoption and success by defining use cases and deployment considerations.
• Collaborate with sales, technical specialists, and customer success teams to progress opportunities.
• Contribute ideas and best practices to accelerate client success and solution adoption.
• Present findings and recommendations to business and technical stakeholders.
