Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States seeks a senior software engineer to own the architecture and delivery of high-performance, low-latency trading systems built with Java and Golang. You will design REST APIs, microservices, and automated tests while mentoring the team.

You will work with broker-dealer operations to support equities, options, funds, and other asset classes, ensuring 24x7 availability and scalable data pipelines using Kafka, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
At least 10 years of software engineering experience with Java.
Experience with Test Driven Development and unit/integration tests.
Strong CI/CD and automated testing frameworks.
Proficiency in robust REST APIs and event-driven architectures with Kafka and Kubernetes.
Background in financial technology or capital markets.
Proficiency in PostgreSQL and MySQL.
Unix/Linux experience with scripting for data extraction.
Familiarity with Jira, Git, Jenkins.
Experience with 24x7, highly available architecture.
Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and Agile/Scrum.

Responsibilities

Own the technical architecture, design, and delivery of high-performance, low-latency brokerage systems using Java/Golang.
Assess software application and database health and performance and provide technology solutions.
Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs and microservices.
Collaborate with Broker Dealer Operations teams to support trading systems across asset classes.
Define specifications, develop components, modify the existing stack, and prepare test data.
Analyze service and application performance and implement improvements.
Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team.
Guide non-technical staff in using software and hardware systems effectively.
Support applications through system integration, test planning, scripting, and troubleshooting.
Build an ultra-low-latency, high-throughput trading system and tools for global investing.

Requirements
