Job summary

U.S. Bank in Minnesota is seeking a software engineer to analyze, design, test, develop, operate, and maintain financial applications built on COBOL, DB2, JCL, VSAM, and CICS.

You will own production-ready code with full-stack ownership, participate in code reviews, and apply DevOps and security best practices to deliver reliable, scalable solutions focused on customer experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Two to three years of relevant experience.
Hands-on knowledge of COBOL, DB2, JCL, VSAM, and CICS.
Experience with GitLab preferred.
Knowledge of agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.
Experience working in financial institutions.
Complete understanding of a feature, impacted users and flows, and feature purpose.
Understanding of algorithms and data structures.
Ability to define and fulfill solution requirements for end users.
Proficient understanding of architectural design patterns and best practices.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to communicate processes and results with engineers, product owner, scrum master, third-party vendors, and customers.
Must comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and workplace conduct and safety policies.
