Job summary

Jobtailor in Boston, MA, seeks a senior BI & Analytics leader to own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of BI, advanced analytics, and AI‑driven products for North America Intermediary Distribution. You will hire, coach, and guide a high-performing team while managing vendors and ensuring timely, compliant delivery.

The role requires deep expertise in Python, Tableau, Snowflake, and AWS, with a track record of leading complex data architectures and multi-vendor environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience required
  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience with relevant enterprise technologies, including hands-on and leadership roles
  • 3-5+ years of project management experience with a proven track record for delivering projects and driving execution
  • Experience influencing, leading, and coaching without direct leadership responsibility
  • Superior reasoning and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in Asset Management or Financial Services, with understanding of investment products, sales and redemptions, and AUM
  • Advanced proficiency in Python for data engineering, analytics, automation, and data quality validation
  • Hands-on experience with Tableau for enterprise reporting, dashboard development, semantic layer design, and self-service analytics enablement
  • Experience designing and developing solutions on Snowflake and AWS Redshift
  • Expertise in data modeling, dimensional modeling, semantic data layers, and analytics-ready data structures
  • Ability to design and implement complex data transformation pipelines integrating internal and external sources
  • Experience with Master Data Management, reference data management, data governance, metadata management, and data lineage
  • Understanding of enterprise data architecture, data warehousing, lakehouse concepts, ETL/ELT frameworks, and real-time data processing
  • Experience with AWS S3, Glue Catalog, Lambda, Athena, and IAM
  • Familiarity with Alation, Collibra, or Informatica
  • Experience optimizing SQL workloads and performance tuning across large-scale analytical datasets
  • Knowledge of data quality monitoring, reconciliation processes, and automated testing frameworks
  • 2+ years of direct people-management experience, including performance management (preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in a multi-vendor outsourced environment (preferred)
  • Ability to negotiate or persuade others in complex situations (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Develop consistent technical build, implementation, and support processes
  • Ensure designs adhere to standards and align with service management and SDLC
  • Troubleshoot development and test environment issues and perform root-cause analysis
  • Lead corrective actions and design/build improvements to prevent recurrence
  • Define, track, and measure department performance and metrics
  • Prepare and distribute reports, models, status updates, and statistics to technology leadership
  • Escalate issues and problems to leadership as needed
  • Participate in strategic and financial planning
  • Maintain technical subject matter expertise and evaluate emerging technologies
