Job summary

HNTB's Philadelphia, PA office is seeking a Co-op Engineer in the Rail/Track Department. Under one-on-one guidance from engineers, you will perform basic engineering tasks that reflect elements of your post-secondary curriculum to help create construction plans for passenger and transit systems nationwide.

You will learn environmental mitigation, basic transit and high-speed rail design, and may develop CAD drafting skills while supporting ongoing projects across the US.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary civil, electrical or mechanical engineering program.
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
• Commitment to learning and CAD skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing design documents for trackwork including alignments, drainage, grading and estimates.
• Learn environmental mitigation.
• Learn basic transit and high speed rail design and construction fundamentals.
• Participate in field visits or client meetings.
• Develop CAD drafting skill set.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
