Job summary

GAF in Newton, KS seeks a co-op student for a field-plant startup experience spanning spring and possibly summer terms. You will rotate through chemical, electrical and mechanical engineering teams, contribute to material quality investigations, and prepare technical reports for GAF leaders.

Eligible candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum 2.8 GPA, sophomore standing, and willingness to work full-time for 6 months (January–July 2027) or June–Dec 2027.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 2.8 GPA and sophomore standing.
• Willing to work full-time for a minimum of 6 months (Jan–Jul 2027) or Summer term.
• Ability to generate accurate technical reports.
• Strong problem solving, project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performing raw material quality assurance activities and material performance.
• Conducting problem solving investigations and troubleshooting to identify root cause.
• Supporting quality improvement initiatives with suppliers.
• Providing technical support and analytical analysis for material issues.
• Involvement with data flow diagrams/technical diagrams.
