Job summary

General Motors invites qualified students to join the co-op program in Arlington, TX, and other U.S. locations. You will engage in mechanical analysis, process optimization, and tool design while collaborating across teams.

Onsite work, full-time hours, and a focus on safety are emphasized. The role requires pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree with a planned graduation between late 2027 and mid-2030, plus active enrollment in a GM-approved co-op program at Kettering University or Rochester

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Must graduate between Dec 2027 and May 2030.
  • Able to work full-time 40 hours/week.
  • Willing to work in a plant environment.
  • Must be enrolled in a co-op program through Kettering University or Rochester Institute of Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical root cause analysis and problem solving.
  • Analyze product, process and technology to determine best manufacturing methods.
  • Assist in designing and building tools and equipment or suggest improvements to existing processes.
  • Assist maintenance personnel in operation and maintenance of specialized equipment.
  • Troubleshoot maintenance and equipment problems.
  • Coordinate machinery upgrade projects.
