Job summary

Philips invites motivated undergraduates and graduates to a 6‑month material science co‑op in New Kensington, PA. You will gain hands‑on experience in biocompatibility testing, materials assessment, and product development for Sleep & Respiratory Care.

Collaborate with R&D, NPD, CROs and regulatory teams, learn to apply internal Quality System Procedures, and contribute to long‑term competence in materials science while working onsite.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (Chemistry, Materials Science, etc.).
• Experience analyzing chemical and physical properties of materials.
• Experience using test instrumentation in a lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform material assessments and testing to evaluate biocompatibility for product development.
• Investigate material failures and coordinate corrective actions with project teams.
• Review new materials, manufacturing processes, finishing technologies, and reprocessing methods.
• Contribute to long term competence development in materials science at S&RC.
• Learn and adhere to internal quality manuals and procedures.
• Collaborate with R&D, NPD, CROs, regulatory agencies, and internal/external scientists.
