Entergy Arkansas, LLC in Little Rock is seeking a Power Systems Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience in power system analysis and operational planning while working with experienced engineers on meaningful projects that impact grid reliability.

This co-op role offers exposure to steady-state load flow, transient stability studies, and collaboration with TCC, with a focus on applying engineering principles and contributing to process improvements within Entergy's transmission planning

Qualifications

  • GPA >= 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Currently enrolled in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles and sound judgment.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
  • Willingness to work safely per Entergy policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform steady-state load flow analysis in the operational horizon.
  • Perform updates to operational planning models.
  • Perform transient stability and voltage stability studies.
  • Provide technical support to the Transmission Control Center on steady-state and dynamic power system issues.
  • Interface with load serving entities, regulatory agencies, reliability councils, and other transmission providers.
  • Represent Entergy on industry-wide technical working groups.
  • Assist with storm/emergency restoration efforts as necessary.
  • Apply engineering principles to solve real-world operational challenges.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for operational enhancements.

Entergy is seeking a Power Systems Engineering Intern to support our Transmission Planning and Operations team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in power system analysis, operational planning, and technical support while working alongside experienced engineers on meaningful projects that impact our grid operations and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
  • Currently enrolled in or graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles
  • Thorough understanding of procedures, programs, and standards in responsible area
  • Consistently demonstrates good engineering judgment
  • Good leadership skills
  • Good interpersonal skills along with strong written and oral communication skills
