Job summary

Books A Million in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a Co-Manager to help run the store on a Manager On Duty basis, partnering with the management team to maximize sales and customer service. You will oversee merchandising execution, maintain store standards, and lead a team to deliver strong store performance.

This role requires leadership, reliability, and excellent communication, with duties that include ensuring operational efficiency and employee development, while supporting daily store goals.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
• Previous experience in a supervisor role.
• Successful completion of all required background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Maximizes profits and customer service by leading assigned category team and operating the store in adherence with all Company policy and guidelines
• Operates the store as the Manager On Duty in conjunction with the management team.
• Maintains the physical security of the store they are assigned, and in doing so is a key-holding member of management.
• Ensures highest level of customer service and handles customer complaints to a satisfactory conclusion.
• Maintains category merchandising and cleanliness and ensures operational efficiency.
• Trains and develops Associates and Leads.
• Facilitates effective communication to all store Associates through daily briefings and weekly and monthly meetings.
• Drops off bank deposit and pick up change order as needed
• Picks up café grocery supplies (milk, baked goods, etc.) as needed
• Consults with the General Manager on associate performance
• Performs other duties as assigned.
