Job summary

Alpha is seeking an experienced Master Teacher to co-lead a full public-school classroom in a partnering district. You will work alongside a district-employed teacher to run the Alpha model, focusing on motivation, culture, and hands-on, student-centered learning.

You will mentor and model new practices, design project-based workshops, and use live data to drive instructional decisions. This is a full-time, in-person role in Springfield, MA or Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as the primary teacher responsible for a full-size public-school classroom.
• Experience leading, coaching, or developing other educators in a public-school setting.
• Experience personally designing and delivering a project-based learning unit from the ground up.
• Demonstrated ability to build a classroom culture based on student ownership, clear expectations, accountability, and motivation.
• Strong interpersonal judgment and the ability to influence experienced peers without relying on formal authority.
• Willingness and ability to work in person at a participating public school in Springfield, Massachusetts, or Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Co-lead the classroom with a district teacher: co-own the day, student outcomes, and classroom culture.
• Build a student-led culture with goals, data, relationships, and incentives.
• Design original project-based workshops to develop future-ready skills.
• Coach through action and help the partner teacher build confidence to lead more of the model.
• Track daily student engagement and learning data, adjusting approach accordingly.
