Job summary

Converge North Central seeks an Elementary Director to build teams and environments for kids to explore Jesus and form lifelong relationships. You will lead volunteers, coordinate Sunday morning experiences, and implement family discipleship through The Practices.

This part-time role offers potential to grow into a full-time Next Gen Pastor by merging with the Community Youth Director, depending on candidate fit and church needs.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, equip, and lead small group leaders to invest in elementary students through relational discipleship
• Recruit, equip, and lead large group leaders to teach biblically-based lessons that set up small group leaders for meaningful conversations
• Develop volunteers to ensure Sunday morning environments are set up with all lesson materials and supplies, utilizing an approved curriculum
• Develop and enhance Sunday morning elementary environments to ensure each kid has fun, develops personal relationships, and becomes more curious about Jesus
• Lead and support occasional events to attract and engage new families
• Lead annual Mega Sports Camp to further disciple existing students and reach new students, with emphasis on connecting new families to The Co
• Develop strategies to engage kids and families in The 5 Practices through existing ministry environments
• Resource parents to be daily disciple-makers of their children
• Develop new and innovative strategies to further our mission within Co Kids

Job description

Purpose: The Elementary Director builds teams and creates environments that inspire elementary students to become curious about the way of Jesus, beginning a personal relationship with Him that will last a lifetime and developing The Practices within their lives.

Leadership Responsibilities:

• Recruit, equip, and lead small group leaders to invest in the lives of elementary students through relational discipleship
• Recruit, equip, and lead large group leaders to teach biblically-based lessons that set up small group leaders for meaningful conversations
• Develop volunteers to ensure Sunday morning environments are set up with all lesson materials and supplies, utilizing an approved curriculum
• Develop and enhance Sunday morning elementary environments to ensure each kid has fun, develops personal relationships, and becomes more curious about the way of Jesus
• Lead and support occasional events to attract and engage new families
• Lead annual Mega Sports Camp to further disciple existing students and reach new students, with a high emphasis on connecting new families to The Co
• Develop strategies to engage kids and families in The 5 Practices through existing ministry environments
• Resource parents to be daily disciple-makers of their children
• Develop new and innovative strategies to further our mission within Co Kids

Initial Opportunities:

• Further implement the 5 Practices within Co Kids Elementary environments
• Develop a Bible Reading Plan for kids based on the adult Bible Reading Plan
• Develop a strategy to equip parents to become daily disciple-makers of their children

*This is a part-time position. For the right candidate, there is the potential to combine this role with the Community Youth Director role to create a full-time Next Gen Pastor position.
