Job summary

Sofidel America in Inola, Oklahoma is seeking a Converting Assistant Rewinder Operator to support the Machine Operator in operating and maintaining rewinder equipment. You will help ensure product quality by following GMP and HACCP guidelines and applying customer specifications.

The role involves program monitoring, setup, and assistance with change-overs, with opportunities for on-site training and professional growth within the Sofidel group.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required/ preferred.
• Basic computer skills to operate and monitor equipment.
• Strong math skills for measurements and testing.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and quality manuals.
• Prior experience is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Machine Operator and learn essential machine operation skills.
• Follow GMP and HACCP guidelines to maintain a safe workplace.
• Apply customer specifications to ensure finished products meet requirements.
• Program and monitor control panels, calculate core size, diameters, and footage.
• Set up and adjust the rewinder and downstream equipment.
• Perform hourly quality checks and assist with product change-overs.
• Collaborate with RCO Technicians for change-overs and adjustments.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and support lean initiatives.

Position Overview

Sofidel America of Inola,Oklahoma is actively searching for a dedicated Converting Assistant Rewinder Operator to join our team, collaborating closely with our Machine Operator to maintain the efficient operation of our machinery.

Job Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Machine Operator under their guidance and direction to learn essential machine operation skills.
• Support Sofidel America’s Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP guidelines to maintain a safe and hygienic workplace.
• Apply customer specifications to machine operation to ensure finished products meet customer requirements.
• Program and monitor computerized operating panels, calculate core size, roll diameters, required footage, and perforation.
• Set up, operate, and adjust the rewinder and downstream equipment to meet production quotas.
• Program the log saw, clamp products in the log saw, and verify cut accuracy, making adjustments as needed.
• Perform hourly quality checks, submit daily quality reports to the QA department, and assist with product change-overs.
• Collaborate with Rapid Changeover Technicians (RCO Techs) for change-overs and adjustments.
• Adjust embossing units and core chucks as required.
• Maintain open communication with the quality, maintenance, and supervision teams.
• Demonstrate leadership skills consistently.
• Keep the work area clean and organized, adhering to lean initiatives.

Job Requirements

• High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
• Basic computer skills.
• Prior experience preferred, but not necessarily required in unique circumstances.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and quality manuals.
• Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Work Environment

• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory in designated plant and warehouse areas, including safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests, hairnets or hats, and other necessary protection.
